Nike – Tomorrow Starts Now

Only a few days after the Brazilian historic defeat to Germany in the 2014 World Cup, Nike released a film as part of the wider “Dare To Be Brazilian” campaign, produced by Wieden+Kennedy.

The film featured Brazilian sport icons such as sprinter Ana Claudia Lemos, Leandrinho and Anderson Varejao. It aimed to announce the Olympic Games, being held in Rio de Janeiro in 2016, with a message of hope and perseverance: “Tomorrow Starts Now”. It was a way of telling the world that Brazil would not give up despite the defeat, and would continue to look forward: “There is no final whistle. Play on.”

To stress the underlying message of hope in the video that instantly went viral (2.5 million views in 24 hours), we selected the instrumental string version of “Awakening”, composed by British jazz pianist Andy Quin.
